I've wanted to write about my feelings about this man's death for a long time. I still believe it was wrong to shoot a unarmed man in the head. As far as my family are concerned this is a complete act of injustice. Jeremy C is right, we should have merely captured the man and then had a trial after which he can rot in a high security prison either. I don't see how this "is a step forward in the war against terrorism", far from it.
This is why America is deeply flawed. I knew that the minute I saw those fellow American cunts celebrating a death.
We heard the news, then felt sadness. My mom sat on my bed that night and told me that there are bad people who wrongly celebrate people who are killed unarmed. Barack Obama should be stripped of his role as our President. Nobody not even people such as bin Laden should ever be shot in the head while they are unarmed. She explained that people seem to forget about human rights but they shouldn't. If we captured him, it would have shown that we are better and can take the high road. Killing is the easy way out.
What about our human rights/decency? It is the 21st century after all, have we forgotten that? It would have been more in line with our values and principles if we had simply captured Bin Laden instead, wouldn't it? Not impressed. It doesn't seem fair. Bin Laden's death is a big big mistake. Why is it that Americans seem to crave death? No we're no better than these people really.
Why are we going after him in the first place, given that KSM was the true mastermind? He got a trial (second class as it is) 12 months later. I genuinely do not understand why the same could not have been done. My family have repeatedly condemned his death and we want a investigation into it as well. Bin Laden was murdered with a shot in the head from cowardly bastards who LOVE to kill other people.
We're a family of steadfast liberals, most of the Sanderson clan are. His death does NOT "save lives". Never did, never will. If anything it just made things a lot lot worse if you ask me.
Furthermore my family knows life is for living but it appears other relatives of 9/11 victims do not. Some of them do not even have any souls or belong to the civilised world (John Cartier I'm talking about you).
